Front row, from left.
David Wright from Scotland. His membership was short and he died when still a member.
Ron Mills from Birmingham. His membership was also short.
Pearson Douglas from Keswick. He was the only bird photographer of the day who consistently used 35mm(Leica). In those days this had drawbacks.
Stuart Bayliss-Smith (none member, but present as a judge),
Hilda Scott-Kilner, wife of Kenneth.
Stanton Whitaker from Derby. He liked his food and when I worked with him later, he weighed 23 stones. I feared having one day to carry him down from the moors.
Back row, from left.
Alan Faulkner-Taylor from Sheffield. He introduced me to the techniques of approach to nature photography used at the time. I still have contact with him.
Ronnie Prior from Derbyshire. Note the managing director stance. He was a very rich man.
Bob Stenton from Sheffield. Very young and very new to bird photography. He later became Club Hon Secretary until Arthur took over from him.
Harold Hems from Sheffield. Still wearing, by the look of it, my demod suit. Hair already on the move.
Ron Hallam from Lincoln. I still have contact with him. He is 3 days older than I am!
Alec Ward from Derby.
Harold Auger from Lincoln. The master. No one anywhere could master the quality of his work.
Dick Bagnall-Oakeley from Norfolk. A wonderful man to be with. he lived life to the full, had a great reputation as a naturalist. Sadly he died quite young.
Missing from the picture are Kay Scott-Kilner, who took the photograph and George Young and Ronald Thompson.
