Mike Read
Mike Read is a professional wildlife and landscape photographer living in Ringwood, Hampshire. He has stocks of over 100,000 images and over 20,000 appear as low resolution examples on his web site. His stock photography is now selling in Britain, Europe and many other parts of the world. As well as running his own stock library (see www.mikeread.co.uk), Mike is represented by three photographic agencies.
As the co-author of a number of books, he supplied most of the photography for 'The Robin', and all of the photographs for 'The Barn Owl' and the 'Guide Book to the South Downs'. He took the stunning images for 'New Forest Moods' which he also wrote. With the New Forest being close to his home, Mike has produced a further four titles on this lovely National Park. He supplied all of the photographs for 'The New Forest National Park' (written by Clive Chatters) and he is author of 'Perfect New Forest', 'Spirit of the New Forest' and 'Spirit of the New Forest Pony'. He is also co-author of 'Red Kite Country' (in conjunction with wildlife artist Colin Woolf) which shows this beautiful raptor along with much other wildlife and many landscapes of mid Wales. Mike also travels more widely in search of images and recent trips include New Zealand, the Falkland Islands and the Po Delta in Italy.
Mike also makes time to lecture and write about his love of the natural world and nature photography. He has considerable experience as a tour guide and leads easy going wildlife watching tours to many parts of the globe for The Travelling Naturalist (www.naturalist.co.uk) , a tour company based in Dorchester.
