Phil has been very interested in birds all his life and following in his father's footsteps has become a dedicated wildlife photographer for the last 25 years. Moving to Scotland some 20 years ago proved a tremendous boost and most of Phil's photography has taken place on the Scottish islands and mainland.
Phil is a great advocate of the Canon EOS system and believes the superb range of Canon auto-focus and image stabalised lenses are ideally suited to wildlife photography. Armed with this equipment, and partly to get away from the dreadful Scottish weather, Phil now travels widely trying to capture action, flight and moody images and has recently branched out into landscape and mammal photography.
In the last few years Phil has organised photographic trips to Florida, Bosque del Apache, India, Namibia, Lesvos and the Oman of behalf of a group of friends. The rapid advances in digital photography are very exciting and Phil looks forward to the technology now available in the EOS 1Ds camera coming down to more affordable levels.
