Arthur Winspear-Cundall

Founded in 1944, the NPP was down to fewer than ten members when I took it over in 1957.  Like most, I used quarter plate stand cameras, almost exclusively working birds at the nest.  I ran the club for sixty years, with some assistance later on, until Geoff White took over full time.

While birds were my chief interest, I developed a broad approach to natural history photography, concentrating in later years on fungi and flowers, updating my equipment over time, through the development of colour film and into the digital age.

My reduced mobility at 90 years of age means I am now doing little photography, but I look back with pleasure to the years I spent with Harold Hems, one of the finest all-round natural history photographers that I have had the pleasure of knowing.
