The NPP has a large collection of prints going back to the clubs early years. Many are in black and white. We do not know what equipment was used to take these images, but upto 1954 it would likely be medium format cameras or even plate cameras.

There is a large improvement in quality from the 1949 album to this one, but still very nest based, which was all that was possible with the equipment of the day.
