Gordon became seriously interested in photography in the early 1980's which was fostered by membership of camera clubs in Harrogate, Stokesley and Northallerton in North Yorkshire. His interest in natural history however started during schooldays and as this intensified, the focus became predominantly ornithological. An involvement in bird ringing and distribution surveys over the years then provided a relaxing counterbalance to a busy professional life and so it was not surprising that as his photography developed, wildlife subjects were an early choice and they have remained firm favourites throughout his photographic journey.
After retirement in 2000, he and Judith moved to north Norfolk and with increased leisure time, now enjoys the pleasures of travel which in turn fuels his enthusiasm for both photography and wildlife watching.
